So, as most of you know already, I recently cut my hair. It was a transition at first but it is something I am loving now and slowly getting used to. It is weird to curl my hair at this length and I am still learning as I go. After I cut my hair, I received quite a few emails regarding how I do my hair (seriously I am not that popular, it wasn’t THAT many haha). I decided to share with everyone how I style my hair every day and how I do it for work, as I do curl it many days of the week.
I used to use a curling wand from Target for my hair, but I quickly had to switch up my routine for my shorter hair. I obviously do not have as much hair anymore, so I had to find an iron that would suit me better. I currently use the Sapphire 8 in 1 wand from Irresistible Me and I love it. I am not a rookie with a curling wand, so I never use the glove that was provided with the box. Ever since transitioning to a curling wand from a regular curling iron, (thanks to my friend & stylist) I will never go back to a curling iron. This wand has 8 different barrels, but I would say that I use 3-4 the most. I have tried them all but I will share my favorite barrels with you.
I would say other than just blow drying it, this is my current go-to look. This takes me the least amount of time in the mornings and still looks pretty polished (in my opinion).
For this look, I typically use the 32 mm (1 1/4 in) barrel for my hair. I usually just flip my hair over and do big curls/waves all over. After curling every part, I just run my fingers through to give it a slightly more ‘beach wave’ look.
This look takes me the longest by far, as the curls are the tightest and they are hard to maintain.
For this look, I use the 25/13 mm wand, which is thinner at the top and wider at the bottom. That is how I am able to achieve the look where the curls are a bit tighter at the top and more wavy towards the bottom. I had seen hairstyles like this on women prior to cutting my hair and had tried it with my longer hair. I typically had to use two curling irons or different techniques. Now, I just wrap my hair around this wand and hold it. Then I do a quick run through with my hands to take out some of the tight curls.
This look is mixed for me in terms of how often I wear my hair like this. I use a slightly larger wand for this, but I still like to keep some of the curl.
I use the 25 mm wand (1 in) wand the most and it is probably the wand that is attached to the iron the most. I use this wand because it gives me curls, but they are a bit looser, yet not quite waves. To get this look, I just hold the wand in each strand and then brush out with my hands after.
These are the wands that I frequently use and find to work best for my hair. I honestly do not have too much experience with all the other wands, so it is something that I do need to play around with a bit more. All the wands are detachable and it comes with 8 in all. I really do love this set and have no issues with it. It heats up SOOO quickly, which is nice when I am using it in the mornings for work.
