Adding More Red to Your Outfits

Hey all and happy Friday! For some reason, this has felt like the longest week ever… it felt like it just would not end. I needed a week to myself, so I stayed home from most events and tried to actually work from home, instead of going a million places a day like I always do. I ran some errands and got a LOT done. I did laundry, cooked 2-3 meals a day, got my nails done… and wow it felt so good!

I always love a little color, but as it gets colder, I can find it a bit tougher to add color to my looks and to keep things as colorful. I have started to keep up with color as the temps drop by adding a pop of color in my tights. Obviously, these looks are a bit bright as well, but I felt like adding a colorful tight gave them a bit more of a pop. I bought a ton of colorful and printed tights for the colder months, so stay tuned… Chicago will be cold for a little while.

Besides adding a pop of color with tights, there are other subtle ways to add color (or in this case, red) to your wardrobe. In both looks, I added a red bag, to offset parts of the look as well. The sweater dress had pops of red in it and since I bought red tights, I wanted to make sure I got multiple uses out of them. To elongate myself and continue the line of my legs, I added the red booties. Red booties are another awesome way to add a pop of red, and it goes with so many more colors than you think it would.

I wore this look to an event a few weeks ago, but at the time did not have the belt (it was not available yet). I wanted to wear these shoes with it, since they had a pop of red in them. I went back and forth with not wearing tights, but my legs are soooo pale, so I have been opting for them. I wanted to take the look to the next level, so I added the tights. I felt like the tights just took the look up a notch.

I tend to shy away from red and then I see dresses like this one on other people and it looks FAB! I need to step outside of my comfort zone and add a LRD into my wardrobe for the holiday season 😉

I truly love wearing red. It makes me feel powerful. I’ll admit, there isn’t much of it in my wardrobe currently, but I’m wearing matching red pajamas right now. Does that count? Haha!
